Singer, songwriter, music composer, flute, piano, saxophone, producer and multimedia artist

For over 25 years, Julia has performed in a variety of groups in several countries, including Tree of Life (reggae), The Humble Man Band (rock), Ulterior Motives (rock), Carmen (flamenco jazz rock), Upper Dubland (reggae), ComoNo Ensemble (free jazz/classical/jazz/hiphop) and the Tohuwabohu Big Band (free jazz) to name a few.

Band genres include reggae, Latin American music, jazz, hip hop, DJ, folk rock, free jazz and flamenco jazz rock.

As a vocalist and wind player for various groups, she has performed at numerous festivals, museums, universities and music venues since 1984 including the Turk’s Head Music and Arts Festival, Make It A Night Wednesday Series at The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Penn’s Landing and The Philadelphia Fringe Festival (Philadelphia, PA) Make It A Night (Wilmington, Delaware). Similarly, she has performed internationally at the Festival de Verano (Cantabria, Spain) and with an international group of Italian and North American musicians, The Delicious Life Orchestra (DLO) (Bologna, Italy) at The Container Club and at LINK.

Additional Credits include opening with Tree of Life (West Chester, PA) for Yellowman and with Upper Dubland (Philadelphia, PA), opening for Black Uhuru. She also performed at a fundraiser, opening for Ritchie Havens and opened for Bill Miller at a festival.

Julia has shared the stage with: Animus, Elliot Levin, Chuck Treece, Philly Gumbo, Disciples of Discipline and many other local Philly musicians.

Julia produced and created multimedia/music shows at The Highwire Gallery, Reset Art and Tri-Tone in Philadelphia, PA.

She performed with her group Aguafuego at The Knitting Factory in New York City as part of Emancipate.

While in Chicago, she performed with several music groups including Ifficial reggae. She also assisted organizing several performances at clubs and theaters throughout the Chicago area.

She also performed as part of a jazz band backing The Digable Planets in Houston, TX.
